But you need to have a great deal of tolerance to   work with the old and disabled. During the course of studying medicine, you must develop this skill even if you lack it initially as you are bound to meet people from different walks of life while studying medicine and also while working in hospitals. Studying medicine will enable you to perfect people skills as it is a team work. Doctor’s need to work with nurses and other doctors as well on a daily basis. Moreover, a doctor is a role model and mentor for his/her students. If you are not a team player, you have to reconsider whether medicine is the right choice for you.

Nonetheless, your hard work will pay you off in the form of a decent  salary to earn a decent living .Being  in medical profession will give  you a sense of security and assurance that you will not lose your job during tough economic times unlike other professions. Nevertheless you should be aware that this is not an easy or a simple job. Alternately  studying medicine, demands a lot of  sacrifice and personal investment.

When you opt for studying medicine, know that you will be responsible for many  lives and cannot afford to make even minor mistakes. It could have far fetching consequences. But as human  beings all of us are bound to make mistakes no matter how hard we try. But care should be taken to keep these mistakes to the minimum in a medical profession. As a doctor ,you should be able to overcome these situations and consider every opportunity as a learning experience. The amount of responsibility is tremendous and this could be a discouraging aspect of studying medicine. However each one has a different method for dealing with problems. Responsibility should never come in way of choosing something, especially if you are good at your job. If you run away from your duties, you will be giving opportunity to those who are less skilled and experienced.

Researchers are of the opinion that most of the children by the time they attain the age of 10-12 years know what they would like to become. By the time they start their  college  education they have a clear picture of their future.

You need to have patience  in medical job while dealing with difficult situations and people. The key to a successful career in medicine is to be confident about your abilities and be comfortable with the decisions you make. With time and experience you will be able to develop these skills and you just have to keep trying to better yourself .All said and done, you are the best person to decide whether you have the aptitude required for studying medicine. Sometimes all it takes is just one reason to make the right choice.
